Energize and Organize: Organizing and Storing Medicines and Vitamins with Care and More!

• Check for expiration dates and keep a magnifying glass handy for those hard to read date stamps.  The FDA has information about how to safely throw out expired medicines and vitamins.   
• Store medications and vitamins away from moisture exposure (bathroom cabinets) and extreme temperatures.
• Group like with like items for easy of use and accessibility.  For instance, group all first aid items such as band-aids, gauge, creams, etc. together. Group all children's medications together, all prescription medications together, all vitamins together, etc.
• Remember to store items in their original light and/or dark colored containers.  When exposed to light, some medicines and vitamins lose their effectiveness.
• Always keep medicines and vitamins out of reach of young children.
